Robert Maxwell, music & Carl Sigman, lyric
Ebb Tide is a popular song composed in 1953 and was intended to be reminiscent of the waves coming in and out from the shore. Vic Damone, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond and the Righteous Brothers are among the many who have recorded it. The first three notes of the melody are identical to the first three notes of “Misty”. My mom loved this song so I learned it in the early 60s to play for her.
This performance is to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of my friend, Tom Kirdahay, who I first met in Key West some years ago where we rode bikes next to the ocean.
