Moonlight Sonata - Ludvig van Beethoven
Beethoven composed this haunting piece while he was in his early thirties in 1801.  The name “Moonlight Sonata” comes from remarks made by German music critic and poet Ludwig Rellstab when he likened the first movement to moonlight shining upon Lake Lucerne.  Later in the 19th century, the sonata was universally known by that name.  This performance is to honor my husband and partner of 26 years - Michael Boustead.  Enjoy!  David
