Selections from Westside Story
Leonard Berstein, music / Stephen Sondheim, lyrics
West Side Story has always been one of my favorite musicals. Bernstein’s music is both harmonically and rhythmically challenging, yet still ascends to gloriously beautiful. Today I perform three selections: I Feel Pretty, Somewhere and Tonight. I especially connect with the first song (as I always "feel pretty" when I am playing piano) and the last because the music creates such a feeling of excitement and anticipation. Enjoy!
